Robin Quirt

FPFS BSc

Robin is our resident Canadian. After coming to the UK in 2011, Robin completed the St. James's Place Academy which helped her transition from a career in Physics Research to that of a Wealth Manager. After starting her career with St. James's Place as a sole Adviser, she joined Burfields House in 2015 and has been working with existing and prospective clients since.

About

As a self-confessed admirer of complex ‘financial puzzles,’ Robin works closely with her clients to help deliver their lifestyle and financial goals in a holistic, tax-efficient manner. This includes advising clients with Capital Gains, Income and/or Inheritance Tax issues on how to best mitigate current and future liabilities though the use of ISAs, Pensions, tax driven and Trust* investments, Long Term Care Fees planning or, more commonly, a combination of them all.

Key to Robin’s Inheritance Tax Planning is communicating with the next generation to ensure the well-laid investment and tax plans continue to benefit families for generations to come. This is a principle Robin carries through to the specialist advice she gives to those in need of later life planning to ensure her clients and their families are well looked after.

Robin’s expertise is backed up by the many exams and qualifications she has obtained beyond the Diploma level including:

  • AF1: Personal Tax & Trust Planning (distinction)
  • AF2: Business Financial Planning
  • AF4: Investment Planning
  • AF5: Financial Planning Process
  • St. James's Place Later Life Planning exam (AF8 equivalent)
  • J02: Trusts (distinction)
  • J03: The Tax & Legal Aspects of Business (distinction)
  • CF8: Long Term Care Insurance

Robin currently has the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Insurers and the Personal Finance Society. She has also won the ‘Best Candidate’ Award from The Sussex Chartered Insurance Institute in both 2014 and 2015, alongside winning the 'Best Completed Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning' prize in 2017/18.

Robin was awarded the Later Life Adviser Accreditation by the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) in February 2022, which identifies her as specialist adviser in the area of financial advice for older people.

The value of an investment with St. James's Place will be directly linked to the performance of the funds you select and the value can therefore go down as well as up. You may get back less than you invested.

The levels and bases of taxation and reliefs from taxation can change at any time. The value of any tax relief generally depends on individual circumstances.
